Tip: Oral Hygiene and Health

Poor oral hygiene can lead to gum disease.

How to Maintain Good Oral HygienePoor oral hygiene can lead to gum disease.  Research has shown that people with gum disease are almost twice as likely to suffer from coronary artery disease.

Call to Action:

Good oral hygiene is essential for optimal health.  Daily flossing, twice daily brushing and yearly dental check-ups will help maintain oral health.

To effectively brush your teeth, buy a toothbrush with a small head to easily reach all parts of your mouth, teeth and gums. It is best to brush your teeth twice a day for two minutes each brushing.

Note: According to the American Dental Association, it is best to replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months.  Frayed and worn bristles don’t clean as well and make your teeth more vulnerable to decay.

To your wellness,

Lynn
