Researchers have found that people who eat breakfast think better and faster, remember more and react quicker, and are mentally more alert than people who skip breakfast.
Call to Action:
Do you currently eat a healthy breakfast before you start your day? If not, why not? And please, don’t use the excuse you don’t have time.
Here’s what I do the mornings I leave to go to town, which is 50 minutes from home. I toast 3 slices of my homemade whole-wheat raisin and cinnamon bread adding a small amount of Earth Balance. I start the toaster oven and get dressed or finish dressing and am ready to walk out the door when my toast is ready. I eat in the car, which saves me time in the morning. I pack a few fresh fruits (kiwi, apple, orange, cut up fresh pineapple) and eat those mid-morning.
On the mornings I stay home I reverse the order. I eat cut up fresh fruit first thing and then an hour or two later (mid-morning) I eat my toast or something else, like cooked oatmeal, etc. I keep it simple, but nutritious.
