Reducing the portion sizes of high calorie and high fat foods goes a long way in helping a person not overeat. Even when eating out where portion sizes have gotten much bigger you have options.
Call to Action:
When eating out:
- If you tend to overeat when you go to a restaurant, ask the server to pack half the meal in a to go box before serving you your meal.
- Order one entrée and share it. Each person can then order their own salad, but easy on the salad dressing.
When eating at home:
- Serve yourself half the amount you usually eat if you tend to eat everything in front of you.
- Make less food look like more by serving your food on smaller plates. (The old food photographer trick!)
