According to the American Institute for Cancer Research approximately 1/3 of the 1.5 million cancers that occur every year in the U.S. could be prevented. Three factors that you can control have a lot to do with your risk of developing this terrible disease.
Factors That Affect Your Cancer Risk:
1) How much you move, 2) How much you weigh, and 3) What you eat.
Call to Action:
- Be physically active every day for 30 minutes (walking, running, taking the stairs).
- Aim to be a healthy weight throughout life.
- Choose mostly plant foods, limit and/or avoid red meat, and completely avoid processed meat.
February is National Cancer Prevention month. Follow these guidelines to help reduce your risk of cancer.
