Good Fats Bad FatsOne of the greatest scientific breakthroughs in the prevention of cardiovascular disease is that the type of fat in your diet is of greater importance in maintaining a healthy heart than the amount of fat in your diet.  The better the oils you eat, the smoother your blood flows.

Call to Action:

Consume these heart-healthy oils – those higher in Omega-3:

Fish oils, Flax oil, Olive oil and Nut oils

Limit or avoid these unhealthy-heart oils – those high in Omega-6:

Corn oil, Cottonseed oil, Palm Kernel oil, Sunflower oil, Safflower oil, Soybean oil and especially avoid all “partially hydrogenated” or “hydrogenated” oils (these are trans-fats)
